Marriage, motherhood, tutelage, travel… Join some of Singapore’s eminent classical Indian dancers and musicians as they express how such life experiences have shaped their individual artistic journeys.
Featuring eminent bharatanatyam, kathakali and kuchupudi exponent, Shantha Ratii; Singapore’s dancing duo sisters and Bharathaa Arts dance school founders Suganthi and Jeyanthi Kesavan; doctor and dancer Roshni Pillay Kesavan; as well as bharatanatyam dancer, and founding member of theatre company, World-in-Theatre, Priyalatha Arun.
Musicians featured include Young Artist Awardees Ghanavenothan Retnam and Aravinth Kumarasamy, as well as veteran vocalist Bhagya Murthy and prominent percussionists T. Ramanan and Shankar Rajan, with Lakshmi Krishnan on nattuvangam. They will be joined by two of the brightest rising stars in the Indian classical music scene, Sushma Somasekharan and Poornima Sathish.
